How PRIALT is delivered?

PRIALT is a prescription medicine that a doctor injects into your spinal fluid through a special device. The technical term for this is intrathecal therapy.

Intrathecal therapy lets people receive pain medication continuously through an infusion system comprised of an infusion pump and catheter that has been inserted into the spinal fluid.

Many people with severe chronic pain will receive PRIALT therapy through an internal infusion pump that is surgically implanted in the abdomen. Others may be prescribed an external infusion pump that can be carried outside the body on a belt or shoulder strap.

Once you start therapy, treatment will require follow-up office visits to:

• Slowly adjust the dose to find the right dose for you
• Check for possible side effects and help minimize them should they occur
• Discuss changes to other medications
• Refill the pump as needed
